IT Support Technician

Location: Nottingham

Responsibilities

  • 1st and 2nd Line Support assisting staff with any logged IT related incidents.
  • Diagnosing and resolving IT hardware and software incidents, including operating systems and
  • range of software applications.
  • Providing support for VPN issues
  • Organising delivery and return of IT equipment.
  • Answering phone and dealing with face-to-face IT helpdesk enquiries
  • Logging and resolving incidents on the IT ticketing system.
  • Installing new IT equipment and prepare and maintain IT equipment for use
  • Helping with Document control within the company
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Friendly & Approachable and an Active interest in IT.
  • Able to work independently and in a team.

Essential Skills Criteria

  • Hardware/Computer – Build, deployment, and troubleshooting
  • Windows experience - Server 2016, 2022 & Operating systems XP/7/10/11
  • M365 Proficiency: O365 applications, Active Directory, Online Exchange,
  • Networking – Configured switches, Routing, VLAN, Cabling, DNS, DHCP, IP and Troubleshooting
  • Understanding basic Principles of Cyber Security
  • Basic understanding of SQL database including statements
  • Virtualisation including VMware and Hyper-V
  • Fault finding and diagnostic skills.

Working Hours & Holidays

Work will be undertaken in a normal office environment day-to-day with supervised visits to

customer sites required on occasion.

You will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Start times for the role of IT

Support Technician are between 08:30 and 17:00, with a 1 hour unpaid lunch

between 13:00 and 14:00.

You will be entitled to 20 days holiday per annum, in addition to the statutory 8 bank holidays,

throughout the year.An additional annual leave day will now be awarded for 2 years’ continued service (January to December inclusive) and an additional day awarded each year after that, up to a maximum of 5 days.
