Your new company

My client is the UK division of a large multinational steel company are looking to recruit an aspiring ICT Support technician to join the IT department to provide 1st and 2nd line support over the UK sites.

The primary role will be to act as first line support to solve user hardware and software issue and assist in the maintenance of the company IT software and hardware. The successful applicant will be involved in a wide range of IT support and project implementation activities.

Your new role

My client is currently in a great period of growth and this role will be joining them on that journey with a lot of great opportunities. You’ll need previous experience as a 1st Line Support Technician and desirably some 2nd Line Support experience. The responsibilities and duties of the role include:

  • 1st line support of all ICT systems for all UK sites - User equipment (Windows desktops, laptops and Android Mobile phones), telecoms, printers, networks and software (Windows, Office, SAP + bespoke systems)
  • SAP and Bespoke software User Support and Administration
  • Improving knowledge to advance to 2nd line support role
  • General IT administrative work for IT and other departments if required
  • Assisting the IT department on IT projects
  • Documentation of work systems

What you’ll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • (Essential) 1st Line Support Technician
  • (Desirable) 2nd Line Support Technician
  • A clean driving licence
  • Self-motivated and be able to work autonomously
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be enthusiastic and be willing to learn
