Applications are invited for the post of Information Assistant (Acquisitions and Content Delivery) in the Library.
Provision of library content to students and staff in support of learning, teaching and research is a key priority for the College, and this has been emphasised dramatically by the recent need to provide access to students both on and off Campus. This role is key to the effective and efficient acquisition of new content and its seamless delivery to library users. As part of the Acquisitions and Content Delivery Team the post holder will work together with other Information Assistants to order and receive physical and electronic resources and deliver Inter-Library Loan and Accessibility services. The post holder will be spending a proportion of their time (0.4 FTE) carrying out financial administration for the Library, pending the outcome of departmental planning around the delivery of administrative support. This will be a significant element of the role in the short to medium term, and presents a unique opportunity to develop experience and skills in both library acquisitions and financial administration.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, confident, and team-orientated individual who will have an excellent eye for detail, the ability to keep accurate records, with a facility for dealing with numerical information. They will be adept at using a range of IT packages and web applications and be quick to learn and follow complex processes. A strong communicator, they will be able to plan and organise their work and display flexibility and a commitment to their own professional development. Previous experience working in a library or in administration is desirable, but not essential.
In return we offer a highly competitive rewards and benefits package, including:

  • Generous annual leave entitlement
  • Training and Development opportunities
  • Pension Scheme with generous employer contribution
  • Various schemes including Cycle to Work, Season Ticket Loans and help with the cost of Eyesight testing.
  • Free parking
