We are looking for a dedicated, innovative, experienced and motivated Dermatology nurse to join our team, with excellent communication skills clinical skills, proficient IT skills, and a flexible pro-active approach. We would also welcome applications from Registered Nurses with experience in systemic medication, DMARDs, and the monitoring required .The inflammatory Disease CNS role supports patients receiving both systemic and biologic treatments for their condition. The post-holder will work closely with the systemic and biologics pharmacist and consultants, as well as the wider dermatology team.This is an exciting developmental CNS role, which will form a pathway into a band 7 CNS post following successful completion of relevant competencies.Although based at the Beckenham Beacon site the Dermatology team have a close working relationship with Dermatology colleagues across the Trust.To deliver evidence based individualised patient care according to patient’s changing health care needs, through holistic needs assessment (HNA).To work autonomously and seek collaborative relationships with others across and within professional boundaries.To develop patient pathways and be responsible for developing the nursing service in partnership with the Band 7 Skin cancer CNS.To able to influence the patient care pathway, refers to other professionals and sign-posts patients to other agencies as appropriatePlaces quality at the heart of practice by delivering evidence based individualised patient care according to patient’s changing health care needs, through holistic needs assessment, (HNA).Uses specialist knowledge and provides specialist advice to ensure effective continuity of care delivery to patients.In conjunction with the clinical team, undertakes (risk) stratification for patients having skin cancer follow up. Promotes self-management through education and guided support.Actively engages with the cancer management team, the London Cancer Alliance and other partners as appropriate to continuously raise the profile of cancer nursing and promote patient centred services for patients affected by cancer.Work closely with the other Clinical Nurse Specialists within the Cancer Nursing Team.Supports the wider Trust nursing agenda through representation on committees / working groups as appropriate.King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching Trusts with a turnover of £1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 15,000 staff based across South East London.
