Our Industrial Placements are open to university students due to undertake a year in industry as part of their course, who wish to gain valuable work experience. Over a period of one year, you will have first-hand experience in the front line of our business operations. We’re looking for students who have a passion for HR, and want to gain real-life experience in a fast paced and complex environment. If you’re ambitious, driven, and eager to show what you can do, this is a great way to start your career in HR.

Your Role

In Kuehne+Nagel’s Welcome & Excellence team, we find and develop the best talent; shaping the future of Logistics. As a national team, we get to work across the UK offering future talent programmes for graduates, placement students & apprentices (including apprenticeships for internal development). We are involved in all aspects of the employee lifecycle and activities include attraction, selection, development & professional qualification activities, supplier management, and ROI & performance tracking

Your Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working hand-in-hand with the Operational Business and HR teams to co-ordinate, administer and deliver excellent future talent programmes.
  • Coordinating recruitment campaigns: attraction and branding activities, event management; recruitment and selection processes, assessment facilitation, contract offer processes and working with our external recruitment partner.
  • Making new trainees feel welcome throughout the induction process, including offer and on-boarding activities, coordinating preview days and welcome guides.
  • Developing centralised documentation for development programmes
  • Implementing and coordinating specific talent pipeline projects and university and school outreach activities including development & management of our virtual work experience offering.
  • Celebrating our trainee talent through award nominations, celebration events and development of ambassador networks.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Currently studying for a degree qualification
  • A passion for HR and people development
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with an ability to manage high volume and varied workload.
  • A good team player
  • A willingness to learn
  • Driving licence not essential as long as candidates can reach the site by public transport
