Company Description: Haviland Ltd is a fast-paced family run engineering business , seeking to recruit a motivated, well-organised skilled person to join our small and friendly team. Established over 30 years ago we have a reputation in the industry as a leading design and manufacturer of bespoke, paint, heat and pre-treatment plants.

Location: Ilkeston, Derbyshire, to include travel nationally

Hours: Full-time Hours: 8-4:30pm (occasional longer days required where travel is necessary)

Salary: £26,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience)

Type of Job: This is the first time we will be bringing an Electrical engineer in house. We currently outsource. Because of this, we are open to full time and part time applicants.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a hands on Qualified Industrial Electrician to join our team. Your role within Haviland will be to work on a variety of interesting projects across different industries; including aerospace, automotive industries, oil and gas to name a few.

We will be looking for you to be involved in the electrical design capabilities of our products along with working engineering solutions to achieve a brief. Installation and commissioning.

You will assist in the building of bespoke process machinery, ovens and spray booths within our Ilkeston workshop with tasks including but not limited to;

Main duties of your role:

• General mechanical assembly
• General pneumatic system build and testing
• Installing & servicing ovens on location
• Reading and understanding electrical drawings
• installation of control panels and interconnecting wiring
• PLC and MCC design and writing
• simple logic control system design and manufacture
• On site servicing with travel undertaken in one of our company vehicles (occasional overnight stays when required)
• To complete annual servicing for our existing customers, attend break downs (ranging from fault finding to replacing parts when necessary).

Skills & Competencies:

Essential

• Clean Driving License
• Be able to work under own initiative
• Read technical electrical engineering drawings
• Good communicator, professional with clients

Desirable

• Fabrication experience
• Experience of working in a small company.
• Fork Lift Truck & MEWP License (Training can be provided)

Person Specification:

As is common with many small companies, we wear many hats. As we manufacturer of a variety of products, familiarisation within various mechanical systems on top of your electrical qualifications is desirable, such as pneumatics, bearings and bushes and drive systems.

We are looking for someone who is reliable and flexible with their time. Every so often there are times when unforeseen situations require a little longer on site, or maybe a trip to collect something from a supplier at last minute. We would be looking for you to be accommodating.

We will ask you to be independent within certain tasks. Attention to detail and the ability to see jobs through to completion is a skill which we will be looking for. Along with independent working, you will also work as part of a larger team of sub contractors when on site.

We take pride in the things we have, and would ask you to do the same with the equipment, tools or vehicles you use. We are all responsible for maintaining a tidy and safe workshop.
