Term:Full time, permanent/ part time would be considered

Location: Exeter - office-based with the ability to work flexibly as and when needed. Some travel across the Southwest will be required as and when needed for meetings

Closing date: 27th November 2022

Salary: £60,000 to £80,000 DoE or pro rata equivalent

The role sits within the legal team of our B Corps group services company, Oxygen House Limited. Our purpose is to help group companies scale impact and make the world more sustainable through the gaining and sharing of knowledge.

You will be based at our Exeter HQ from which Oxygen House Limited and several of our group companies operate. We offer a range of free on-site facilities that are available to everyone in the team, focusing on health and wellbeing. There’s an outdoor all-weather pitch, gym, indoor games facilities and a café serving delicious, local, organic and planet-friendly food.

THE ROLE

This is a unique opportunity to use your legal skills to make the world more sustainable in an award winning in-house legal team of a B Corps. The role reports into our General Counsel, working across a wide range of our group businesses, no two days will be the same.

You’ll be working at pace as part of a small team, and you will be expected to get stuck into anything and everything to deliver the mission. Our General Counsel is the founder of The Chancery Lane Project, and the role will create opportunities to demonstrate the part lawyers have to play in the net zero transition.

• Leading on a range of commercial agreements (external and intra-group)
• Negotiating, drafting, and advising on contracts of all sorts and sizes
• Corporate and Property transactions
• Group governance, risk management and audit processes
• Advising on corporate governance
• Assisting with the management of our insurance portfolio
• Everything and anything in between

ABOUT YOU

• Passion for and commitment to our group’s mission
• Qualified solicitor with proven commercial law experience either in-house or within private practice
• Self-motivated, self-starter with a can-do attitude
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
• Emotionally intelligent
• Innovative and forward thinking
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise with staff and clients at all levels
• Able to work under pressure and juggle several tasks simultaneously whilst still meeting deadlines
• High levels of integrity, accountability, and openness
