The Role:

The illegal trade of illicit tobacco, vaping products and other types of illegal goods is having a negative impact on our communities in Bolton. We are looking for dynamic and committed individuals with a flexible approach to problem solving to join the existing direction of the Trading Standards service to tackle and disrupt this illegal trade in Bolton using both traditional and alternative methods of investigation and disruption. The role will require working with partners to use the results of our work to better inform other agencies and the public of the harm this illegal trade is having on our localities and initiating work to improve the safety, health and experience of Bolton’s residents.

About You:

You will have a strong interest in investigating and disrupting criminal activity have the desire to make a difference in this area of work. You will need the ability to pick things up quickly and be adaptable to rapidly changing and evolving tasks, investigations and demands coupled with a willingness to work outside professional boundaries. You need to have a flexible approach to working hours for occasional evening and weekend work. You will have strong verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative approach to partnership working. Previous experience, knowledge, qualification or study in the areas of criminal legislation, investigation or enforcement are desirable.

Salary: £30,151.00-£33,820.00 per year
