Consultancy with a focus on sustainable engineering and associated technologies requires an Electrical Engineer with HV knowledge and experience to join their team. The organisation works in the renewable energy sector and develops solar, battery storage, waste to energy and EV charge point infrastructure projects. They are looking to take on an Electrical Engineer who has a strong understanding of electricity networks, gained either in a design or more hands-on environment. Responsibilities:-Scoping projects by searching the electricity network for grid capacity - this will involve work on Google Earth, GIS and on-line graphical, database and spreadsheet systems as well as keeping track of TORI and long-term development statements from DNO’s and National Grid, SPT and SHET transmission networks
  • Working with consultants or from personal knowledge to develop G99 & G100 compliant grid application forms and single line diagrams of projects
  • Keeping track of live applications and project manage them to offer and in stages to project sale or completion
  • Assisting the design and drawing teams with pertinent information about connection details, cable routes, protection schemes etc.
  • Liaising at all levels with the DNO and transmission network engineers and project managers
  • Obtaining ICP quotes for contestable connection works
  • Liaison with ICP companies and project management of their work Requirements:
  • G99/G100 experience
  • ICP / DNO / new connections / power distribution background
  • Interpretation of grid offers
  • Cost basis for contestable works through to customer side (so we can cost connections without always using ICPs)
  • Ability to engage with DNO/NG to establish possible connection strategies.
