The Position

We have a new opportunity for a Level 7 CIPD qualified Human Resources Manager to join our HR team based in our Head Office in Carlisle.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in managing an HR function will be required to assist with the management of the overall HR operations and the delivery of strategic objectives across the Euroforest Group.

The successful candidate will be proactive, well organised and have strong attention to detail skills, whilst demonstrating exceptional interpersonal skills and be approachable, enthusiastic and professional at all times.

The Company

Euroforest is the largest independent timber harvesting & marketing company in the UK. We harvest and market in excess of 2.7 million m³ of sustainable timber per annum, in partnership with our group companies. Euroforest has grown significantly over the past couple of years, now with over 70 staff across England, Scotland and Wales and 150 employees across the group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise managers on the terms and conditions of employment and knowledge share best practice with them.
  • Develop HR policy and procedures to drive performance and mitigate disputes.
  • Manage employee relations casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement and redundancy.
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
  • Design and implement company policies that promote a healthy work environment.
  • Manage the Mental Health First Aider Group
  • Provide advice on recruitment and selection strategies and oversee the recruitment process.
  • Drive alignment between group HR strategy and business goals.
  • Continuously monitor and review HR policies and processes and implement changes where necessary.
  • Report to the Board of Directors at quarterly Board Meetings.

Additional information

The role is a full-time permanent position, Monday – Friday - 8.30am – 5.00 pm. On site parking is available.
