Summary of position

The HR Manager position plays a lead role in delivering the HR strategy for the Company.

The role will involve implementation of HR processes, procedures, policies, and training material for store management.

This role will also have a strong emphasis on Employee Relations therefore an up-to-date knowledge of employment law and best practice is required.

It will also be a point of contact for the Senior Management Team/Board of Directors.

Objectives

You must be a proven HR generalist who can deliver across the full spectrum of HR on an operational and strategic level - you will be expected to consider the bigger picture and develop strategy for HR.

This is an exciting position for someone who enjoys working in an autonomous role within a large business with a UK-wide remit. This is a generalist role and you would lead HR operations on a day-today basis, but equally important will be your ability to influence senior stakeholders and to develop/implement people strategy to drive the business forward and to be efficient/profitable:

Job Responsibilities

· Develop and lead the HR strategy to comply with company goals and objectives for the UK;

· Point of contact for all HR matters, advising and supporting staff and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures;

· Continuously monitor and review HR policies and procedures implementing changes where necessary;

· Development of retention strategy and employee engagement activities;

· Advising on Change Management such as redundancies/operational changes when required;

· Issuing change of variation to T & C’s documentation and ensuring this is passed to payroll;

· Assisting with employee relations investigations, including providing advice and guidance to colleagues as necessary;

· Day to day business partnering with Regional and Area Managers;

· Ensure all accident and incidents are recorded and reported including all necessary documentation is completed including liaising with insurers;

· Assist with recruitment and enrolment of employees in the Company when required such as restaurant openings;

· Undertake ad hoc project work as necessary;

· Respond to customer complaints ad hoc basis;

· Ensuring all HR related data processes is GDPR compliant;

· Playing an active role in ensuring KPIs are kept to targets, i.e. reducing absence;

· Ensuring any issues declared by employees are managed in on-boarding liaising with Managers recruitment to ensure appropriate management of probationary periods; and

· Any other duties as reasonably requested by the business that may not be part of your day to day role.

Previous experience/Qualifications needed

· Minimum 4 years’ experience in retail;

· Proven ability to develop and implement HR Strategy;

· Up-to-date employment law knowledge and the ability to transfer employment law into practice; and

· Previous experience of reporting to a Senior level.

· Degree level or equivalent in HRM, or Qualified to CIPD Level 5-7 (or equivalent) or have significant vocational experience in a similar role
