The Business Partner(BP) with work closely with Divisions to provide dedicated Workforce and Organisational Development to enable them to achievement of service delivery objectives. They are required to understand the business strategy and deliver the key elements of the People Strategy.

The BP will provide advice on the development of strategic and operational workforce plans, develop HR solutions to meet Division’s needs, oversee performance management against a range of working metrics, targets and KPIs, provide and oversee provision of specialist advice on the full range of HR policies, processes and procedures.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of HR, you will be supported by a HR Adviser, working as part of a highly qualified and experienced team of workforce and organisational development professionals.

The BP is responsible for the full range of management actions within the BP team, including appraisals, managing attendance, disciplinary, capability and other HR processes.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate achievement at senior leadership level, ideally gained in a large scale, complex organisation. As an experienced business partner, you will be able to demonstrate a track record of building effective relationships and managing operational complexity. Evidence of leadership and inspiration, resilience in the face of challenge and the ability to inspire confidence and enthusiasm are all essential to the role.

Ensure that close effective working relationships are established and maintained between the BP team and Directorate’s Business Intelligence, Recruitment, Occupational Health, Medical HR, Flexible Workforce and Apprenticeship teams. Working with colleagues across the Directorate in developing and implementing new ways of working, new standard operating procedures and ensuring that agreed practice is established consistently within the wider directorate. This will include taking individual ownership in relation to tasks shared across teams and supporting colleagues to ensure that a seamless service is provided.
