About the role

This is a great opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to showcase their skills and experience within a business that can offer excellent support and high levels of autonomy. You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive generalist HR service for the entire employee life cycle across all levels at our two UK sites Chinley and Melton Mowbray.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing employee relations cases from start to finish and support and advising managers throughout
  • Managing the UK business operational HR priorities on a day-to-day basis for either Melton Mowbray or Chinley.
  • Coaching and supporting managers with their leadership and management in order to effectively develop capability and high performance within their teams.
  • To develop, co-ordinate and implement Company Policies and Procedures ensuring legal compliance, good practice and ‘best fit’ to achieve business strategy.
  • To drive and deliver HR and improvement projects, ensuring outcomes are aligned to the business strategy and legislation.
  • Managing the recruitment process for all shop floor and administrative positions, including advertising, sifting, interviewing, and supporting managers in effective selection.
  • Ensuring employees receive full formal induction plans, conducting business overview and induction presentations where required to ensure effective communication of the business and management systems utilising tools and resources available.

About you

This is an operational HR role requiring a minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Business Partner in generalist human resources roles. You will be accomplished in designing and implementing new and effective ways of working to embed an effective and efficient HR service to the business.

Key skills and experience include:

· GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English; Level 5 CIPD in Human Resources Management, or post graduate diploma or degree in business (or related subject).

· HR experience gained in an international manufacturing sector or similar industry.

· Up to date knowledge of UK Human Resources legislation and best practice gained within a manufacturing or similar industry

· Proficient with Microsoft Office and HRIS software

· Demonstrable influencing, persuasion, and coaching skills.

· Ability to constructively challenge accepted norms.

· Commercially focused, able to manage and process information with absolute confidentiality.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with employees (union and non-union) and managers at all levels.

· Deals with situations and people positively and with enthusiasm, demonstrating a helpful, calm and professional approach.

· Prior experience of dealing with unions and/or works councils
