£46,500 per annum, benefits

Birmingham, Tamworth, Coleshill, Coventry, Elmdon, Marston Green

Office hours, Mon – Thurs 8:30-17:00; Fri 8:30- 14:00

Working hours – 37.5 hours a week

An opportunity has arisen for a HSE Manager to join our client who is a major producer of assemblies supplied to the Automotive sector who work with some of the world’s leading OEM’s.

Mission

To develop, implement and monitor Health and Safety policies, systems and procedures to reduce the risk to employees and others to the lowest level that is reasonably practicable and to ensure all statutory and Company standards are met.

Main Accountabilities will include:

Providing advice and guidance on legislation and industry best practices.

Designing and implementing policies, systems and procedures.

Recording of incident statistics and their subsequent analysis.

Scheduling risk assessment for completion, and assisting/advising on COSHH, Fire, Machinery and Noise risk assessments.

Liaising with Occupational Health, promoting health strategies and wellbeing.

Designing and delivering Health and Safety training programmes.

Advise and assist the Health and Safety Committee.

Manage expenditure within the Health and safety budget.

Incident investigation.

Liaising with statutory bodies – Health and Safety Executive, Fire Authority and Insurance Companies.

Collating and reporting monthly HSE performance indicators.

Document compilation against Employer Liability claims.

The ideal candidate:

Experience with Health and Safety Management Systems

Policy, Systems and procedures relating to Health and Safety

Risk Assessments

Internal/External accident reporting. Ideally NEBOSH qualified

Respond on behalf of the company to statutory (H&S, Fire, insurance, interested parties requests) and investigations for information

Limits of Authority - stop people, plant, equipment in breach of Health and Safety legislation, company standards and official guidance
