About The Health, Safety & Environment Team

The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) team ensure that we operate safe working environments for all THG employees and visitors. The team provide on-site support to ensure risks are managed in a timely fashion, as well as completing audits and checks to so the business meets all health & safety related legislative requirements. Achieving and maintaining legal environmental compliance is essential to prevent the risk of litigation and/or financial penalty and the reputational damage that could be experienced in the event of non-compliance of legal issues concerning the environment.

Reporting to the HSE Manager this role will cover 2 units on the Icon campus in Altrincham, Manchester.

Responsibilities
  • Develop site specific HSE strategies, programmes and plans.
  • Pro-actively monitor and challenge standards to promote continual improvement. Support with environmental management matters such as, environmental impact assessments, investigations etc, and compliance with environmental legislation.
  • Performing regular Health, Safety & Environment audits and inspections; Relaying findings back to the HSE Manager and local management teams. Implement immediate corrective actions and overseeing all further preventative and corrective actions to eliminate root causes.
  • Advise and support all colleagues of their statutory duties within their areas of responsibility.
  • Leading and mentoring a small team of H&S coordinators.
  • Assist in the development of the company HSE Management system.

    THE ROLE

    The EMEA Finance team aims to be a strategic advisor in achieving Silicon Valley Bank’s overall vision to be the most sought after financial partner helping innovators, enterprises and their investors move bold ideas forward fast, supporting all of the Management information (“MI”), business analysis, financial reporting, Financial Control, Treasury and Tax activity for the EMEA division of SVB.

    This will be done by delivering greater insights to support decision making and set strategy to protect our business and deliver smart growth.

    Working within the EMEA Finance team and supporting a number of business and functional teams, this broad Finance Business Partner role is critical in delivery of finance goals and priorities and in supporting business decisions and driving smart growth.

    Responsibilities

    This is a broad and varied Senior Finance Business Partner role and we are looking for a candidate with extensive FP&A experience, including cost management, who can support and deputise for the regional Head of FP&A, independently drive wide range of initiatives and face off to UK Management Committee members. Initial focus of the role will be to:
    • Drive insight and analysis to trully understand and enhance the performance of EMEA business
    • Develop business unit and product profitability models
    • Develop and roll out cost allocations methodology in EMEA
    • Work with group FP&A to bring transparently and accuracy to group allocations process
    • Develop investment appraisal and benefit tracking framework
    • Support the implementation of enhanced cost management framework across UK and EMEA
    • Partner with stakeholders across the business including sales and functional leads to agree, challenge and deliver cost budgets
    • Support wider strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting process
    • Continue to look for ways to re-engineer, automate and right-shore finance processes and operating model


    Qualifications

    SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
    • Strong and varied FP&A background with significant cost management and product profitability experience
    • Understanding of UK banking environment and key performance and return metrics
    • Business Partnering and ability to engage with a broad group of stakeholders
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education
    • Accounting qualification preferred
    • An ability to work independently in completing assigned duties
    • Well developed analytical and problem solving skills
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • An ability to quickly gain a thorough knowledge of SVB’s bank operations and products.
    • Ability to work independently and contribute to multiple projects across a number of areas
