Your opportunity

This role sits within the HR People & Operational Effectiveness function and provides a chance to make an impact through partnering internal and external teams across the firm to provide scalable standards, solutions and frameworks across HR processes and procedures to enable the successful delivery of the UK HR Strategy. We identify threats and opportunities to the delivery of the HR strategy through management and monitoring of HR operational and enterprise level risks. We promote and maintain oversight of the HR internal control environment through adherence to all relevant compliance requirements related to our people. Our team are located across the UK but leverage the global scale of Deloitte to drive productivity, create value and deliver sustained results for our people.

Your role

This role will lead the delivery and management of:

  • the HR operational risk and enterprise frameworks and reporting across HR
  • embedding a culture of risk and compliance management across HR teams
  • partnering with HR teams to monitor HR operational risk remediation plans to ensure risks are effectively analysed, controlled, mitigated, and learnt from to inform future best practice
  • our approach for internal control monitoring to ensure compliance against our HR processes, policies and operational procedures meeting our statutory and non-statutory obligations (inc. adherence to applicable regulatory and legislative obligations and monitoring of third-party delivery of our insourced or outsourced services)
  • the development of HR standards covering our important processes and procedures such as effective record management practices aligned to the HR record retention standard
  • supporting HR process, data, and technology owners to maintain documentation and oversight of what personal data they process, why it’s collected, extent of the processing, how the data is accessed and secured and the required period of storage
  • partner with our central privacy team to ensure sufficient oversight and remediation of HR privacy risks across HR controls
  • the management and oversight of the HR business continuity plan to ensure timely inputs and regular updates from HR owners
  • advocating operational resilience; building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders across all lines of defense to ensure successful delivery and embedding of operational resilience
  • working with HR Leadership and their Extended Leadership representatives to ensure reporting standards are met across operational, enterprise and people and purpose risk areas
  • the governance and management of our ‘My Support’ knowledge management system in ServiceNow including the oversight of the effective delivery of HR Services led knowledge processes
  • management of the HR workforce plan and budget in partnership with Finance and HR Directors – agrees targets, regular reporting and monitoring of actuals vs budget, maintaining an accurate central oversight of HR spend and its workforce
  • the management of the internal ‘on premise’ HR SharePoint site in partnership with our 3rd party vendor. Lead any updates or change to the platform in partnership with key stakeholders across HR and Technology & Digital Services team
  • maintaining key relationships with our Central Business Services, Data Office and Technology & Digital Services teams

Your professional experience

Essential

  • Effective cross-functional project management skills, with experience of working with geographically dispersed teams
  • In-depth working knowledge of core HR systems e.g. SAP, ServiceNow or equivalent platforms
  • Able to interpret regulatory or legal obligations quickly and translate into our controls, processes, and procedures
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and complex matrix environment and relish working in a change environment
  • Adept at communicating, influencing, coaching, educating, challenging and managing senior stakeholders
  • An experienced Manager who is comfortable making difficult decisions and can communicate/manage the delivery of complex information in a confident manner
  • Understand operating in a COE model and how to leverage those relationships to deliver large scale projects
  • A role model as a team player with an ability to work collaboratively
  • An expert in logical/critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Confident and comfortable to work under pressure and manage a number of tasks simultaneously
  • Able to work in a flexible environment, with an ability to decide which style of analysis and project delivery is appropriate

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a highly commercial, fast paced environment ideally, but not essentially, within Financial Services or Regulated environment
  • SharePoint (Online or On-premise) would be advantageous but not essential
