ERM is a global sustainability consulting company, headquartered in the UK. We are looking to hire an experienced HRBP to join us on a permanent basis. Currently we are working from home. This position will be based in Edinburgh, Oxford, Harrogate, Manchester, London or Glasgow.We will continue to offer flexible working after we return to office.

We are looking for someone with prior experience working as an HR Business Partner in a fast moving environment. We believe that some experience within consulting environment will help you be successful in this role; however we are open to candidates coming from other industry sectors. We are also looking for someone who is happy to be hands-on whilst having a strong commercial acumen and is able to work with the business to help them achieve our business goals and drive performance culture.

Role Profile

This role is a unique opportunity for a candidate wishing to exercise a broad HR function within a passionate organisation with a noble purpose. Whilst operating as an expert at local level, you will also benefit from input and visibility on the regional HR platform.

In order to be successful in this role, it will be important to build trust, credibility and collaborative relationships with our managers and people. This will be key in driving global and regional initiatives and implementing them at a local level. Familiarity with change management and culture shift will therefore be particularly valuable in this respect.

You will act as a trusted advisor to the Northern Europe leadership team, providing credible HR insight and advice, in supporting their goals and the overall business strategy.

The HRBP will partner with the wider EMEA HR community thus benefitting from a high international exposure in order to share best practices across the different countries.

The successful candidate will report into the HR Director in Northern Europe and partner with the Northern Europe leadership team as well as team leaders consisting of environmental, health and safety, social, regulatory, climate change and sustainability professionals.

Main Responsibilities & Tasks
  • Partner with business and team leaders to provide feedback, manage performance, develop talent, coach employees, and promptly address employee relations matters
  • Change Management: contribute to the change management plans, support and effectively communicate while engaging with key stakeholders in the process
  • Contribute to Talent development agenda and its implementation: support people career growth through talent management initiatives such as driving our high potentials; succession planning; performance review processes, and identification of development and training needs, and support their implementation
  • Support implementation of Global projects and initiatives at a local level
  • Working within a professional and collaborative team, accountabilities include:
  • Assist with internal HR process improvement, HR policy development and implementation
  • Support the development, implementation and delivery of the Norther Europe business unit’s People Plan (incl Employee Survey)
  • Support with BU wide and Global/Regional People Initiatives/projects (Spans and layers, career mapping,etc)
  • Build and manage relations with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Be the Subject matter expert on all employee relations issues, including capability, absence management, health, redundancy, to ensure successful and timely resolution and mitigation of risk.
  • Coach line managers to have effective conversations, work with team leaders to create/maintain a high performance culture
