Role Overview

HR Business Partner providing HR Generalist support to Line Managers and Heads of Department at IMI’s Global Headquarters; coaching, challenging, and influencing decisions with key stakeholders. Drive consistency of approach across the Divisions and Group to support current and future organisational needs. This posiiton reports to the Head of HR Lakeside


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert generalist HR advice to all Managers and Employees at IMI Lakeside.
  • Execute thorough and structured recruitment processes, at all levels, in order to attract and induct the best talent for Lakeside; ensure production of timely and accurate offers and contracts in accordance with current regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring the continuous development and rigour of the Performance Management Process in order to build high performing teams across Lakeside Divisions and Group functions
  • Responsible for training and development initiatives for all Lakeside managers. As required, support Line Managers in the identification planning and facilitation of their team training days.
  • Execution of annual salary review process and annual bonus scheme in collaboration with Group Reward. Work in conjunction with Global Mobility Manager to manage International Assignments for employees as appropriate.
  • Support all line managers with ER matters; including grievances, disciplinary matters, redundancies, and absence management cases, whilst ensuring any legal or other risks are mitigated. Ensure HR (and other) policies and procedures are ‘fit for purpose’ and meet ever changing business and legal requirements. Undertake regular policy and employment contract reviews.
  • Support the Early Careers Programme which includes; annual recruitment process including assessment centres, induction, and placement training and development plans.
  • Member of Health and Safety Committee and responsible for training and initiatives at HQ.
  • Responsible for Lakeside communications including; manager briefings, announcements, and employee forums as appropriate.
  • Provide accurate and valuable business information in order to support business initiatives.
  • Responsible for payroll, Occupational Health, and HR administration and database for all Lakeside employees (including remote workers).
  • Support Group/divisional projects across the HR function as and when required
  • Responsible for contributing to key papers and reports as required

Critical Competencies for Success

  • Solid HR experience, preferably in a plc, corporate or professional services organisation, with solid understanding of the core HR disciplines (recruitment, performance management, handling disciplinary and grievances, policy development and implementation etc).
  • Degree plus CIPD qualified.
  • Experience supporting, advising and influencing managers and employees on HR matters.
  • Strong organisational and administration capability, with a track record of delivering to tight timescales and working well under pressure.
  • Ability to build strong relationships in order to coach, challenge, and influence decisions with key stakeholders.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Sound judgment, and a genuine insight into people (talent, potential, motivation etc).
  • Collaborates with others, can make and accept challenge positively and debate confidently
  • Has personal credibility to persuade others of the right course of action, and the ability to build deep relationships that are built on trust and facilitate influencing others.
  • Good process skills and a drive to secure continuous improvements.
  • Ability to operate within a global, fast moving business and a balance of working both strategically and operationally.
  • Proven track record of change leadership and of delivering results and improved performance.
  • Able to work across the organisation globally and with cultural sensitivity.
  • Very good skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
