With people at the heart of your role, you will translate the operational business plans into critical people-based actions, programs and initiatives. You will be the ’face’ of our people team.

You will lead the People Team, providing regular communication, guidance and support. You will provide the team with specific personal development plans, ensuring they have support and room for growth within the team.
  • Providing expert people advice and guidance to managers and colleagues on all people matters, supporting managers in dealing with complex casework, performance, attendance and employee relations issues.
  • Analysing and reporting people information to support with benchmarking and the development of people strategies and solutions.
  • Directing and supporting the People Advisors, the People Assistants and the People Administrator in their duties with regular one-to-one meetings and specific development programmes in place for each member of the team.
  • Be the People lead for our mobilisation process, ensuring a robust strategy is in place to cover all areas of the people mobilisation timeline.
  • Create and develop effective onboarding processes, in conjunction with our talent and people development team, ensuring that all colleagues who enter the business start their journey with us in a positive and informed way
  • Oversee our people policies, creating and updating where necessary to ensure they are fit for purpose and are addressing key needs within our business
  • Lead on our diversity and inclusion initiatives, helping to create and sustain an inclusive environment for all stakeholders
  • Lead on our People metrics, identifying key areas of improvement and working closely with our onsite teams to increase performance, engagement and the employee journey
  • In conjunction with the Head of People and Culture, create and maintain an effective people strategy that is forward thinking, innovate and supports organisational growth
  • Working closely with our People Development Manager, create training programmes that will support our leaders in the business to effectively manage people related issues and provide coaching and guidance in how to successfully lead our teams
  • Question and challenge colleagues to get to the route of any people issues and implement strategies to alleviate concerns and eliminate the scope for repetitive issues to take place, thus safeguarding our colleagues and our business
  • Working closely with our Head of Communications and Engagement, help support the strategy to increase engagement across our workforce, identifying areas where engagement is lower and working with the site teams to get to the heart of the issue
  • Ensure there is user-friendly guidance readily available for the leaders in our business to use for all matters relating to managing their people
  • Be a true business partner, establish and maintain strong relationships with management and key cross-functional stakeholders, at all levels across the company.
  • Lead specific HR project activities and deliver appropriate HR solutions in line with the Business needs and people agenda.
  • Deputise for the Head of People, where required Health and Safety
The health, safety and well-being of our staff, students, and visitors across all our properties is paramount, you will learn about H&S with the aim to have a good understanding and working knowledge of Health and Safety Policies, risk assessments, contractor management processes and safe systems. Thiswill serve to demonstrate our due diligence in safeguarding the health, safety and well-being of staff, students, and visitors across all our properties and will give you the tools and guidance for you to take care of your own personal safety and that of others as required within legislation and law.

This role will require occasional travel across our UK sites as and when required.

In order to work effectively, you may be required to assist with other areas of work and therefore, you should be prepared to undertake other duties appropriate to the post, as delegated by your line manager
