Kings Garden and Leisure Ltd are looking to fill an HR/Admin/Accounts role, working within a friendly team, to help take our business to the next level. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate.
Reporting to the Directors and working closely with Payroll/Accounts Staff, Retail Managers and Restaurant Managers.
The candidate is required to be flexible and have a positive approach to their work. The role will be based at Exmouth Garden Centre in a busy environment. You will be expected to travel to our Sidmouth Garden Centre as and when required.
The ideal candidate would preferably have two years HR experience covering such areas as maternity/sick leave, absence management, performance management, and employment contracts. Manage and support all aspects of day-to-day HR related duties and administration.
Duties include:
- Provide HR administrative support to the company
- Act as a contact point for all employment queries
- Compile offer letters and contracts
- Employee documentation such as variation letters and schedules of service
- New starter administration
- Sickness and absence administration
- Updating the employee handbook & policies
- Responding to general HR enquiries
- Keeping an organised and updated filing system
- Payroll administration
- Administering staff uniform
- Timesheet verification and query handling
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge and experience in human resources, will consider qualified by experience
- Knowledge of HR legislation
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure
- Excellent organisation and planning skills
- Excellent IT skills (incl. Excel & Word)
We are a fun and busy team; we all work well together to ensure we are doing the best for the development of the business. You’ll be comfortable working as part of a team but also be able to work independently. The ability to manage your own workload and prioritize is essential.
Job Types: Permanent, Part-time
Part-time hours: 24 per week

- Human resources: 2 years (preferred)
