HR Advisor (Learning & Development Specialist)

Based in Minchinhampton, near Stroud, Gloucestershire

Salary - £30,735 FTE (£18,441 pro rata)

Hours - 22.5 hours a week, with flexible working

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic HR Advisor with a specialism in Learning & Development to join our team.

This is an exciting, newly-created role within the HR team, providing quality generalist HR services as well as leading the provision and delivery of all learning and development activity for staff and volunteers across all hospice roles.

This is a busy and varied role as you will help shape the L&D strategy for clinical, retail, fundraising and support functions. You will lead on inductions, apprenticeship programmes and talent management and will work alongside the Clinical Trainer and external training providers to deliver external training that continues to raise standards in palliative and end-of-life care.

Longfield is a community hospice charity, in a beautiful setting near Stroud. We believe that everyone touched by a life-limiting illness in Gloucestershire should benefit from free hospice care. We support people to live well after diagnosis through a range of day services for them and their loved ones and, when the time comes, we provide hospice at home care, enabling them to have the choice of dying in the comfort of their own home. We also provide support to their families and carers, including bereavement counselling.

We offer a competitive benefits package which includes flexible working, 33 days holiday, increasing to 38 days with long service, Life Assurance, a pension scheme or the option to continue the NHS Superannuation pension scheme, Employee Assistance Programme, Cycle to Work, a Purchase of Annual Leave scheme and access to discounts through the Blue Light scheme.

Longfield Hospice is a truly wonderful place to work, and we are proud of our modern, purpose-built facilities, fantastic grounds, friendly culture and amazing staff and volunteers. The Learning & Development role is a varied role due to the nature of our workforce. Some days you may be upskilling retail staff in one of our 19 shops, other days supporting clinical training, other days inducting new volunteers. Longfield is a well-regarded charity, which makes a genuine difference to lives and deaths across the county.

If you would like to arrange an informal visit or to discuss the position in further detail, then please contact the HR team on jobs@longfield.org.uk
