Job Title: Human Resources Advisor Reporting to: HR Manager
Location: Stonehouse, Gloucestershire We are currently looking for a Human Resources Advisor to join our growing Human Resources department at our Stonehouse Office in Gloucestershire. Your purpose: The main purpose of the role is to support the HR team in providing comprehensive, professional, and confidential HR services across the business. About Us: We are the Last Mile Infrastructure Group, one of UK’s largest Independent Network Owners, owning and operating in excess of 300,000 gas and electricity connections serving residential and commercial customers. In total the Group employs over 700 people across the UK. Your responsibilities: Manage the on-boarding & off-boarding processes:-Create Select HR profile for new joiners and activate onboarding before their start date
  • Proactive communication with all new joiners, from offer stage ensuring positive introduction to the business
  • Design, co-ordinate and facilitate orientation days and inductions, working closely with line managers to ensure new joiners are fully engaged
  • Work with line managers to support the off-boarding process Support employee relations activities including:
  • Assist HR Manager in providing a comprehensive HR advisory service to managers and staff to ensure full compliance and engagement
  • Coach junior / new managers in all ER activities
  • Support line managers to carryout investigations including taking statements, gathering evidence, and writing investigation reports
  • Attend disciplinary and grievance hearings as the HR representative and minute-taker
  • Ensure a consistent approach is taken across the business in relation to ER activities Support the management of the Graduate Programme:
  • Liaise with the L&D Department to support with advertising and selection of candidates.
  • Assist with Assessment centres to ensure coordination, efficiency and processes are adhered to.
  • Manage sponsorship of visas for new grads
  • Manage business responsibilities around sponsorship of existing employees
  • Work with IT and L & D to ensure smooth onboarding Proactively manage sickness absence to support employees:
  • Produce management information aimed at reducing sickness levels
  • Support managers to consistently manage sickness absence across the business
  • Manage occupational health referrals
  • Attend absence management meetings as the HR representative and minute-taker Manage appraisal process:
  • Liaise with line managers to ensure appraisals are completed on time.
  • Log completion, employee rating and training requirements
  • Support & coach line managers with performance issues
  • Train new managers to confidently complete appraisals
  • Provide refresher training to all managers Take lead role in HR improvement projects as required Any other related HR duties commensurate with the level of the role.   • Excellent administration skills Experience / Knowledge:
  • Previous experience within a HR Advisor role is highly desirable
  • Experience working within an SME business preferred Qualifications:
  • CIPD level 3 Human Resources Practice
  • CIPD level 5 not essential but keen to develop professionally Attributes:
  • Personable and able to build a rapport with a range of different people
  • Confident using a range of communication methods (telephone, email, face to face)
