Main Purpose of Job

To provide telephone and email advice and support to clients on HR and employment issues, undertake HR and Employment case work for clients. Ensure at all times that our clients receive excellent service.

Working Conditions

Office based in Salisbury City Centre

Working Hours: 9am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Some travel to clients’ sites and other HJS offices required on occasions.

Hybrid working arrangements available following successful probation period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and detailed HR advice to clients in line with legislation and Company guidelines by telephone and email
  • Respond to client emails and calls same day in line with company procedures
  • Write up all case notes accurately, with date and time, on Dynamics case management system
  • Manage Breathe HR system for clients and ensure the system and records are kept up to date in line with service agreements
  • Deal with other incoming calls/emails in a timely manner and inform relevant people for action
  • Prepare employment documentation for new employees including contracts, handbooks, policies/procedures, offer letters, etc.
  • Handle HR administration tasks and internal duties for clients
  • Identify opportunities to provide clients with additional services, where it will benefit the client
  • Assist with internal administration tasks as required
  • Monitor developments in employment law and keep knowledge up to date
  • Attend seminars and other events as required
  • Undertake other duties as reasonably required.
  • Person Specification

  • Qualified member of the CIPD;
  • Strong up-to-date employment law knowledge;
  • Experience in providing advice and support service to clients (internal or external) on HR and employment law matters;
  • Experience working with HR computer systems (Dynamics & Breathe HR an advantage)
  • Capable of working well with minimum supervision;
  • Proactive in identifying and meeting client’s needs;
  • Friendly and helpful manner;
  • Able to use PC with good level of competency with Microsoft Office software (in particular Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Willing to be flexible on duties within a small business environment.
