HIA Technician Contract - Agency 3 months Pay: £11.39 per hour
Hours: 37 per week Monday-Friday 9am-5pm Installation of minor adaptations, such as grab rails and small home repairs have been demonstrated to be essential factors in promoting the safety and welfare of disabled and older people living in their own homes. Within Herefordshire Council our in house Home Improvement Agency includes a small team of skilled technicians who provide this essential service across the county. To assist the department with current high workload demand HIA Technician require significant experience in the construction trade, and confidence in multi-trade working, with a wide range of practical skills including basic plumbing, carpentry, and an ability to undertake internal and external renovation & repairs to domestic properties of differing structures to a high standard. Post holder will also have effective communication skills and experience of working with householders of all ages and with differing needs. You will be able to work on your own initiative and keep accurate & up to date records in either paper or electronic form. You will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of health and safety requirements and an ability to use power tools safely. All technicians are required to have a full, clean UK driving licence and an ability to drive a van about the county to meet the requirements of the post.
