HIGHWAYS Operative

Our prestigious client is currently seeking Highways Operatives for works around Ivybridge and the surrounding area. This is a temporary position with an hourly rate of £10.50 per hour

The Role

Works will include tasks such as:-

Various labouring duties including excavation works, laying and levelling of kerbs, slabs and bitumen macadam, drainage and gully installations
Ensuring that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of own and other persons and to comply with all local and statutory Health & Safety procedures
Operating small plant and equipment used in highway maintenance with guidance and the appropriate certificates.
Installing traffic management under instruction in accordance with method statements

Applicants Must

Be experienced in the construction industry (preferably highway work).
Hold a valid CSCS card.
Ideally have Streetworks qualification
Have a Drivers Licence – an HGV would be an advantage but not essential

Hours

45 hours Monday to Friday with potential for some overtime

Pay

£10.50 Per Hour - (PAYE) depending on experience
