Recra is working in partnership with a leading management specialist who is looking to add HGV Technicians to their fast-growing teams.Role & Responsibilities- Undertake comprehensive preventative maintenance and repair standards.
- Undertake such duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the VMU.
- Enforce personally and in others’ Company, Industry & Legal Health, Safety & Environmental standards at all times and without exception.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed as per company/manufactures requirements and standards.
- Correct fault diagnosis to ensure replacement parts are fitted correctly and warranty claims are in line with Company warranty terms.
- Undertake diagnostic analysis where appropriate.
- Complete job cards, service sheets, timesheets, and any other relevant paperwork in an accurate, timely, and efficient manner.
- Ensure a thorough understanding of all Company Safe Systems of Work and always adhere to within the workshop or mobile operations.
- Report without delay, in line with Company procedure, any accidents, risks, and near misses.
- Always maintain exceptional housekeeping standards within the workplace.
- Always ensure the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) without exception. Report defective PPE immediately.
- Ensure corporate uniform as allocated is worn at all times.
- Ensure full and complete end-of-shift handover including vehicle on or off-road status.
- Answer VMU telephone and deal with all enquires promptly and in a professional, helpful & proactive manner.
- Build rapport, and develop trust and respect from both internal and external customers.
- Contribute towards the continuous improvement of processes/methods and operating practices within the VMU.
- Undertake necessary training to become multi-skilled.
- Provide on-the-job training and support for other Technicians as and when required.
- At least 5 years experience in this industry or similar.
- Hold a City and Guilds level 3 in HGV Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Have experience with multiple manufacturers of HGV equipment, specifically around Trailers and Units.
- Hold a clean Full UK driving license.
- (Not a necessity but preferred) Hold an HGV 1 (C+E) Driving licence.
- Double-day shifts rotating each week.
- Week 1 - 6 am-2.30 pm.
- Week 2 - 1.30 pm - 10 pm.
- 1 Saturday in every 3 6 am-2.30 pm.
