We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a HGV vehicle to sites and performing a range of desilting and gully sucking activities on utility ducts to ensure the efficient functioning of our clients’ telecommunications network. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive our desilter/gully sucker vehicle to different locations across the South West.
  • Perform desilting and gully sucking activities in accordance with company guidelines and health and safety regulations.
  • Operate and maintain equipment including vacuum trucks, Jetters, and other machinery.
  • Inspect, repair, and clean drainage systems and associated equipment.
  • Record and report any issues or defects identified during work to the relevant personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and clients.
  • Any other duties that may reasonably be required of you.

Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license and capability of operating a vehicle weighing up to 7.5 Tons.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically fit and able to work in various weather conditions.
  • Desilting training will be provided.

Job details:

Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm with one hour of lunchbreak

Salary: £15 per hour, with some night shift requirement (uplift of £6.25 per hour on a night shift)
