Job Summary

The vacancy is for a permanent HGV Class 1 (LGV C+E) Driver to work on our dry bulk operations. Base location is negotiable. The lorries are Class 1 artic combinations designed to carry 29T of combinable crops or sugar beet from farms into stores, mills, ports and sugar beet factories in the East of England.

Candidate Requirements

- HGV1 licence with Driver CPC

- Interested in agricultural haulage

- Prepared to work some weekends and bank holidays (not Christmas Day, Boxing Day, NYD)

- Prepared to work nights out

- Available over harvest (July-October)

- Previous agricultural experience desirable but not essential

- Telehandler ticket & experience desirable but not essential

Candidate Duties

A typical day will start between 5.00am and 6.00am and take you to a grain store on a farm where you will be loaded with corn. You will weigh and sheet your load and deliver it to one of our customers’ storage or processing sites in the East of England. Due to the structure of the day, it makes sense to be ‘up the road’ for most of the week, overnighting on farm or near the customer’s sites.

From October-January, you will assist with the movement of our farm’s sugar beet from pads in Bunwell to Bury St Edmunds sugar beet factory.

Benefits & Pay

- Basic and two rates of overtime pay, with earnings potential in the region of £42-45k pa depending on hours worked:

- Basic £10.00/hr (First 8 hours M-F)

- OT1 £13.27/hr ( >8 hours M-F, all hours Saturdays, first 8 hours Sundays)

- OT2 £17.54/hr ( > 8 hours Sundays, all hours bank holiday)

- Paid breaks

- Tax free overnight subsistence allowance of £26.20

- CPC training organised and paid for by the Company, on Company time

- Weekly pay
