Primary Objective

The primary objective of the Heavy Cable Recovery Supervisor is to be responsible of the control of your designated project from beginning to end as well as ensuring all documentation, services and processes are completed in line with the needs of the business whilst providing support to the Heavy Cabe Recovery (HRC) engineers.

Key Responsibilities

You will be working across South Wales.

The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure delivery & compliance across all aspects of the contract.
  • Support with recovering cables from the underground duct network, cut, identify, document, and dispose at approved sites.
  • Send updates to and communicate effectively with the back-office team.
  • Raising and following up on non-conformance reports, to ensure that any actions identified, pursued, and resolved.
  • Responsible for site inspections at the start and the end of the day.
  • Overall Management of several sub-contracting and DL site crews carrying out HCR on underground Telecommunication networks.
  • Accurate reporting of HCR progress to the Senior Operations Manager and customer

Person Specification

To be successful in this role the Supervisor will:

  • Hold the accreditation, or have willingness to train on Openreach SA002, K010 and MT003
  • Hold the accreditation, or have willingness to train on NRSWA S1, S2, S3, S4, S6 and S7.
  • Have knowledge of cable identification
  • Have experience working in the underground telecommunications network.
  • Be able to work night shift, as this is an essential requirement of the role.
  • Be willing to travel to and from various job locations within your working area.
  • Be prepared to work away from home to meet operational requirements if needed.
  • Be prepared to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Work underground and in confined spaces within the underground network
  • Work at the side of the road, highways, and public footpaths
  • Be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.
  • Full UK driving license held for a minimum of 12 months.
  • Be highly motivated with attention to detail.
  • Have the ability to work using your own initiative.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Be computer literate with the ability to operate a handheld device and outlook.
  • Be flexible about working hours.
  • If required, be prepared to work weekends (normally Saturdays if needed).
  • Be customer focused, polite and well-presented.
  • Have a clean basic DBS check (formally CRB check)
  • Have a full UK driving licence, with no more than 6 points, held for a minimum of 12 months.
