As a Healthcare Assistant in Theatres at our Bournemouth Hospital, you’ll show us you’re able to meet deadlines and follow instructions. Ideally you will be qualified to NVQ Level 2 or 3, with relevant experience in an acute hospital setting.

We are however are able to offer Apprenticeship scheme to someone who has the acute experience and is keen to obtain a recognised qualification.

Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital

Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital is a 42 bedded hospital with a 2 bedded PPCU within walking distance of the Bournemouth Town Centre. The Hospital is made up of 5 buildings with 5 car parks for patients and Consultants and all staff park in a leased car park about 200 yards from the main Hospital. The hospital has two laminar flow operating theatres and one non laminar flow theatre as well as a Cardiac Cath Lab and an endoscopy unit along with two minor treatment rooms in the outpatient department. There is a large radiology department with fixed CT & MRI and again all is enabled to take Cardiac patients for Diagnostic tests as well. Inpatient and Outpatient physiotherapy is provided within the hospital along with a Hydrotherapy pool as well. Our main specialities are orthopaedics, Cosmetics, Ophthalmology and Cardiology. We also care for patients needing treatment within the specialties of Gynaecology, Urology, General Surgery, Max Fax and Chronic Pain. We provide outpatient services for dermatology, cardiology, neurology and rheumatology.

The Role

As a Healthcare Assistant in our Theatres you will;

Create a great experience for patients undergoing major and minor surgeries in our theatres.
Put their care first, you will have more time to care for them as individual people, not just as patients.
Be in a key role within a fast-paced environment where the team will rely on your support.

The Person

To succeed as a Healthcare Assistant you will;

Be a highly motivated individual.
Enjoy working in places that are constantly and rapidly changing.
Have lots of empathy for people and will find the challenges of theatre work fascinating.
Ideally be qualified to NVQ Level 2 or 3 in care, but that’s not essential as we can offer an apprenticeship scheme for candidates who have previous experience working in an acute setting
Bring great communication skills to the role, and a flexible approach to both your duties and your hours.
