Health Care Assistant – The Lodge

The Role

The Yorkshire Clinic is currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Health Care Assistant to join our busy Ophthalmology Department. It would be preferable to have an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and work well within a team and have previous experience within an Ophthalmology Department although in house training is available.

Duties will include supporting the trained Practitioners, Consultants and Patients as part of an integrated team.

As one of the leading independent private healthcare providers in the area, the hospital is set in three acres of woodland in the grounds of Cottingley Hall near Bingley. Opened in 1982, the hospital provides a number of services from day care to major surgery and general medical care. This is a full-time post for 37.5 hours per week. This will include early, late and long days.

Role Purpose & Core Responsibilities
  • To provide quality planned care for patients.
  • To support and assist in the management and organisation of care provision within the Ophthalmology Department
  • Assist in the delivery of patient care
  • Contribute to quality improvement
  • Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self
  • Apply legislation, policies and procedures correctly
  • Respect the patient’s dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs
Knowledge/ Skills/ Qualifications
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Applicants should polite and flexible in their approach to work.
