Are you a compassionate individual looking to work in an outstanding rated Trust? Tarrant Ward, based at Blandford Community Hospital are looking for a Health Care Assistant to join their experienced team.

As a Health Care Assistant, you will be working alongside an experienced multi-disciplinary team. We have two palliative care suites where you will access to on-the-job training, such as venepuncture and blood pressure monitoring. We pride ourselves at providing the best care to patients and their families in their last weeks or days of their life. Our Elderly Rehabilitation and End of Life Care unit achieved a nationally recognised accreditation in theGold Standard Frameworkaward for end-of-life care.

We offer a structured induction programme and further career development including the opportunity to develop into a Band 3 position. After a year of service there are opportunities to explore enrolling on the Trainee Nursing Apprenticeship & the Registered Nursing Degree Apprenticeship. We have flexible family-friendly working patterns, pastoral support and the chance to be part of a supportive, high performing team of healthcare professionals.

The Health Care Assistant post is a full-time role, we would be flexible and accept part time applications with a minimum of 15 hours. We have a variety of flexible shifts listed below.

Early - 07.30 – 15.30

Late - 12.30 – 20.30

Nights – 20.15 – 07.45

Weekend and public holidays at enhanced pay!

To assist the Sister /Charge Nurse in providing a high quality nursing care to clearly defined group of patients.

To assist the MDT to aid patient in gaining independence and mobility in preparation for a safe discharge.

To meet service objectives and work within the operational policy.

You will –

assist registered nursing staff in providing high quality individualised nursing care to a clearly defined group of patients, relatives and carers.

assist the multi-disciplinary team to aid patients in gaining independence and mobility in preparation for a safe discharge.

participate in providing a range of therapeutic activities for patients
