The role of the Healthcare and Access Partner will be to implement sales, marketing and market access strategy to maintain and expand the sales for UCBs immunology portfolio. The Healthcare and Access Partner will facilitate the development of a broad and deep network of relationships within targeted accounts that may include a diverse base of customers such as clinicians, pharmacists, procurement, hospital trust executives, nurses, specialist GPs and payer groups.

Responsibilities

The Healthcare and Access Partner will be the face of UCBs Immunology team in agreed accounts, responsible for delivering the business objectives for UCB’s medicines and objectives to all relevant people in the account
  • Align the UCB business objectives with local and national NHS policy
  • Secure agreement for product funding and optimum positioning within the local health economy
  • Enhance patient care and help achieve UCB’s business objectives by recognising that higher cost branded medicines require cohesive clinical-commercial discussions across the account, resulting in local agreements between payers and prescribers. This also encompasses the Individual Funding Request processes.
  • Work with the wider commercial organisation to develop and execute BII-region specific commercial strategies based on local nuances
  • Share and develop best practices from the wider UCB and within the Immunology Franchise.
  • Be a ‘first point of contact’ in some accounts, and work closely with the Field Access Managers in other identified ‘partner’ accounts
Major Accountabilities
  • Deliver territory commercial & market access strategies for Immunology brands through excellence in account management:
    • To define key accounts and drive the development of a strategic & integrated business plan.
    • Develop and implement long- and short-term documented business plans to overcome barriers and maximise opportunities
    • Determine whether a clinical demand (sales), payer partnership (access) approach, or both, is required
    • Review territory and account performance and adjust tactics appropriately
    • Construct, present and agree with local patient value unit operational tactics for the territory as part of the business planning process
    • Develop and monitor account level KPI’s in line with local patient value unit business strategy.
  • Create a positive environment for UCB’s products through implementation of the business plan in the defined time frame using appropriate business tools such as Individual Funding Requests ‘IFR’, business case submissions for drug/service funding, referral guidelines/protocols, formulary submissions and patient group directives.
  • Identify opportunities to drive patient value in key accounts, new projects or added value services that would grow market or secure commitment to UCB products as well as bringing solutions to patients.
  • To research, collate and analyse local and regional health economy information to support the development of a managed entry business plan for clinical areas as needed including working with 3rd party organisations for provision of medicines within medical services offerings to NHS.
You Should Have

About you
  • Pharmaceutical or NHS Management Experience.
  • ABPI examination.
  • Proven successful track record in key account/project management and influencing key NHS customers.
  • Experience and knowledge of relevant disease areas.
  • Evidence of competent and enthusiastic teamwork.
  • Demonstrates National and local NHS knowledge
  • Demonstrates detailed product/competitor knowledge
  • Experienced in business planning and business case development.
  • Experience and knowledge of funding pathways and processes for higher cost branded medicines.
