We are currently looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager to join our team in Scotland.You will be responsible for implementing and managing the Gist’s Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) systems and to provide general support throughout the businesses and our sites. You will help drive and deliver the Gist Health, Safety & Wellbeing agenda through active and visible engagement of all stakeholders.It’s an exciting time to join. Having recently been acquired by Marks & Spencer, Gist is set to benefit from improvements to its supply chain efficiency, with network investment and a new journey to success taking shapeSalary: CompetitiveWorking Pattern: FlexibleLocation: Lenziemill, G67 2XN (this is a multi site based role)As a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager at GistReporting into the Head of HSW - South, you will help establish and maintain the highest HSW standards within Gist whilst providing HSW & environmental advice, guidance and coaching to our teams. You will assist operational teams with emergency planning and arrangements, support site management in the investigations into relevant accident, incidents and injuries, and pro-actively participate in the HSW Function discussions to support a continuous improvement programme.About YouEssential
  • Technical member of IOSH (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in health, safety & environment advisory role in a medium or high risk industry
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and influence at all levels
  • Ability to operate in a fast paced operationally challenging environment
  • Knowledge of the logistics/distribution sector incl. MHE equipment
  • Strong accident and incident management & investigation skillsDesirable
  • IEMA Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Mental Health First Aider
  • Facilities/Building/Property Safety management knowledge
  • Chartered membership or IOSH (or equivalent)
