About Our Client
Our manufacturing client are currently looking to hire a Health, Safety, Security & Environment Manager for their site in Milton Keynes. Safety is at the heart of everything they do.
Job Description
Roles and responsibilities will include:
- Advising the management team on all aspects of HSSE Management.
- Ensuring that suitable and sufficient HSSE training is provided at all levels of the organisation
- Liaison with enforcement agencies,including Health and Safety Executive, Environmental Health Officers, local fire authorities.
- Establishing and maintaining management systems required to achieve its HSSE objective with due regard for Occupational Safety, Process Safety and the environment.
- Preparing statements of Health, Safety and Environmental policy, internal codes of practice, risk assessment documentation, contractors regulations and other documents aimed at ensuring consistency of approach by the management team.
- Recording, monitoring and evaluating accident and incident trends.
- Assisting in the preparation of safe systems of work, contributing to corporate HSSE initiatives.
- Leading and facilitating site meetings ie. Health & Safety Committee, Behavioural Based Safety
- Auditor duties - Representing the site for all third party audits in maintaining approval to ISO14001.
- Controlling and monitoring the HSSE auditing procedures.
- Leading waste management and environmental activities for the site.
- Reviewing legislation and standards that are applicable to the site.
- Identifying any new requirements and ensuring the sites compliance as the new requirements come into effect.
- Organising the site emergency management arrangements to include the training of the site emergency management team and run different scenario exercises
- Responsibility for site and employee security, to secure the site against foreseeable threats - theft, terrorism, vandalism.
- Working in compliance with the requirements of the site management systems (IATF16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001).
The Successful Applicant
Applicants should be:
- Qualified with a Health & Safety Diploma (or equivalent)
- Experienced in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
- Chartered membership of IOSH (highly desirable).
- Possessing excellent communication skills both written and verbally.
