A high-quality logistics services company, provider to many of Britains best-known brand names, is working with us to recruit a Health & Safety Manager to join their team.

The Role Health & Safety Manager

The Health & Safety Manager will Manage the day to day Health and Safety requirements of the organisation and ensure that all health and safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.

Other Responsibilities Include
  • Review of procedures and risk assessments
  • Reporting of Health and Safety Accidents, incidents and near misses
  • Advise the department managers on the RIDDOR Regulations
  • The lead investigator for all accidents/incidents
  • Undertake audits and inspections of contractors and working practices
  • Be compliant to the standards of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and BRC.
  • Ensure compliance with our safety legal requirements inherent to the logistics industry
  • Act as company SHEQ representative during managerial meetings and project implementation.
  • Develop SOPs and SSOWs and deliver training of these to staff members at all levels
  • Communicate updates and work with the team to drive continuous improvement
  • Highlight any improvements to the relevant Supervisor/Manager through the correct channels.
The Hours

Monday Friday 8:30 -5pm

The Right Candidate

The successful candidate will be able to evidence the following on their CV:
  • Experience and knowledge in incident investigation and root causal analysis.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Evidence of practical audit/inspection experience.
  • The ability to analyse data and formulate action plans.
  • Experience in identifying RIDDOR reportable accidents
  • Experience in BRC accreditation management and processes
  • HACCP trained
  • Managed ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 (or integrated equivalent) management systems.
  • Experience of managing / implementing change control processes.
