Health & Safety and Fit Testing Programme Manager – Band 7

We are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity for a professional Manager to join our Health & Safety team, base to be confirmed.

As a manager working across the organisation with some freedom to act and interpretation of legislation/policy/procedures, the post holder will support the Head of Health & Safety ensuring that Health & Safety effectively contributes to the corporate objectives and strategic direction of the Health Board, working within the framework of good corporate governance. The post holder will have expert/specialist knowledge in the area of Health & Safety.

The post holder will be responsible for the expert advice in this field, assist with the co-ordination and development of safety related policies, protocols, procedures, and guidelines supporting the Head of Health & Safety with the work in the development and implementation of a long term, standard & consistent approach to Corporate Safety Planning.

The post holder will have expert/specialist knowledge in the area of Fit Testing, will have responsibility for ensuring the organisation’s defined arrangements for the management of Fit Testing are being carried out and they will contribute to managing the Health Board’s statutory and best practice provision that includes; co-ordinating, developing, planning, communicating, training and monitoring in all relevant aspects of Health & Safety and Fit Testing, along with the line management and day to day supervision of the Regional Fit Testing Co-ordinators as directed by the Head of Health & Safety.

This role will be a 5 days per week (37.5 hours per week), permanent contract.
