To support, advise, monitor and challenge operational management teams to ensure we have appropriate Environmental and Health & Safety standards and that significant risks are managed in 2 office (approx.1600 colleagues) and 5 contact centre operations (approx. 2000 Dixons Carphone colleagues and WebHelp agents) across UK & I. This includes influencing partners such as WebHelp to ensure there is a consistent H&S message across shared contact centres.

As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Supporting the roll out of strategic Health & Safety and Environment plans for office and contact centre locations
  • Defining the Health & Safety standards for Dixons Carphone’s UK & International business
  • Working with offices and contact centres to deliver improved health, safety & environmental ways of working
  • Maintaining a high level of knowledge and awareness through external benchmarking, networking and horizon scanning
  • Sharing knowledge and best practice with corporate offices and contact centres and guides them in achieving continual improvement in Health & Safety and Environmental matters
  • Advising on appropriate Health & Safety training and delivers internal training
  • Driving standardisation and risk reduction and ensures locations have robust processes in place for managing and reporting Health & Safety issues and performance.
  • Measuring and reviewing KPI data
  • Supporting serious accident & incident investigations and where necessary makes recommendations for future improvements to prevent recurrence
  • Advising on environmental matters and helps define corporate environmental strategy


You will need:

  • Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety and Environment legislation, regulations, standards and practices
  • Health, Safety & Environmental experience within an FMCG business
  • Experience of a corporate environment
  • Confident use of IT systems and software
  • Maintain a good standard of professional development through such organisations as IOSH
