Health & Safety Assistant

We are looking for a self-motivated Health & Safety Assistant who will provide support to our internal Health & Safety Advisor. This individual should have interest and specifically be looking to develop a career in health & safety. You will be a team player in embedding the health and safety culture into all areas of our operations, continuously developing, and improving our business.

· Health & Safety qualification(s) is preferred but not a necessity

· You will need some experience of using a variety of Microsoft software packages including Word, PowerPoint & Excel

· GCSE or equivalent including Maths & English (9-4/A*-C)

· All applicants must hold a full UK driving licence

· Role will be office and site based which may infrequently require some time working away from home

A background, or experience in, any of the following areas may be useful:

  • Construction
  • Engineering
  • Manufacturing

Skills & Experience

· High-level of attention to detail

· Proficient IT skills

· Ability to manage and organise own workloads

· Excellent communication skills

· Good organisational skills with a keen eye for detail

· A positive attitude and ability to work efficiently with integrity and initiative

Key Responsibilities

· Providing support to the Health & Safety Advisor

· Support with maintaining the online health & safety web portal

· Assisting in the health & safety organisation workload tasks

· Development of the company’s health & safety policies and procedures

· Providing support producing health & safety management reports & internal communications

· Undertaking site visits and carrying out health & safety audits / inspections

The role is full time and predominantly based in the UK and may involve travel between our UK sites. A full driving licence is essential and access to a job need company vehicle will be made available. From time to time, we operate engineering projects in Europe and further afield internationally and as part of the role, you may be required to join the engineering team on these projects, providing the business with the health & safety support it needs.
