We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Utilities Health and Safety Manager within the Enabling Functions sector. This role will be based in Coleshill, our head office is based located within an excellent location easily accessible via the M6 and M42. The office is also accessible via rail, we offer employees a shuttle bus transfer to our office from Birmingham international. SL1B Based

Role description:

To provide verification that required H&S procedures are in place and being effectively implemented. The review lessons learned, update procedures as required and support the implementation of any new requirements.

Experienced required:

• Corporate Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health – CMIOSH Minimum.
• National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health Construction Certificate / Diploma.
• Relevant EUSR qualifications.
• Industry experience and in particular Construction Design and Management (CDM).
• Experience of working on major civil engineering or construction projects.
• Background in utilities, and a good understanding of the relevant operational training requirements for all operatives and staff in the utility sector.
• Experienced SHEQ professional with experience of operating in a large contractual area.
• Good understanding of the Lloyds Register GIRS, NERS and WIRS certifications and procedures desirable.

Our work with HS2

Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire. Overall, we will be building the following across all our sites:

• 42 viaducts totalling over 11km
• 66 overbridges
• More than 35 cuttings reaching over 30km
• 56 culverts
• 66 embankments reaching over 33km
• Building four motorway crossings requiring box structures
• Six interfaces with the existing rail requiring both dive-under and overbridge structures
