Job Description

Manage the company’s operations concerning Health & Safety and Quality responsibilities, ensuring the company is fully compliant and up to date in real time with any changes/updates in legislation. Manage and audit the Quality Management system, provide internal Health & Safety training whilst adhering to the company’s process and procedures.

We are ideally looking for somebody who has experience managing to the following standards - ISO9001,14001 and 18001. NEBOSH qualification would be desirable.

A background within a materials handling business and environments would be beneficial as would experience working within a company who has a field-based engineering SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) responsibility.

Promoting a Zero Culture, the HSQ Mgr will work with the wider team to ensure Crown are compliant with all health, safety and environmental legislation. Develop and maintain management systems. Promote a positive safety culture, delivered high levels of customer focused service with a priority on eradication of accidents.

Responsibility for overseeing Health, Safety and Environmental requirements. Carry out all relevant yearly audits within each branch environment. Review, amend and create risk assessments and method statements and communicate appropriately. Generate monthly and quarterly reports to be presented at board level

Responsible for the co-ordination and monitoring of the implementation of the health and safety policies and procedures across the Company.

Liaison with external safety consultants as appropriate and arranging regular health, safety and environmental audits and annual required surveys (E.g., Legionella, HAVS etc)

Arranging for fixed electrical testing at all Company’s premises and arranging assistance with Portable appliance testing, when requested.

Chairing health and safety management review meetings.

Assisting the Managing Director in providing relevant information and bringing the Company’s health and safety policies and procedures to the attention of all employees.

Reporting on the current status of LOLER/PUWER thorough examinations of all lifting equipment used on Company and resident engineer sites.

Responsible for maintaining all Health & Safety records.

Responsible for keeping records of all reportable accidents/incidents and reporting same under RIDDOR regulations.

Arranging for the provision and testing of Company Fire prevention equipment and alarm systems.

Recording of all accidents and near misses in the Accident tracker.

Management of reporting products incidents through to EMEA HQ.

Person Specification

Experience with managing the company ISO Quality and Environmental systems

Keep up to date with all new and amended legislation and report into the business

QHSE Knowledge And Relevant Qualifications Including NEBOSH General Certificate

Competency on Microsoft Packages including Outlook, Word and Excel

Good organisational and time management skills

Ability to work well with varied tasks and under pressure

Effective communicator

Monday to Friday - 8 hours per day.
