They are trusted to deliver integrated solutions on often high complicated projects, by some of the worlds best known brands, across a range of sectors.Position SummaryDPS Group are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health and Safety Advisor to join their team. The Health and Safety Advisor will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective health and safety practices, policies, and procedures throughout the organisation. The role will involve providing guidance, training, and support to ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices.This position is 37.5 hours per week working Monday - Friday 0800-1600. This is a very adaptable role where the successful candidate will need to operate in line with site requirements and manage their own time accordingly.Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards and develop appropriate control measures.
  • Provide advice and support to project teams, supervisors, and employees on health and safety matters, ensuring understanding and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Deliver health and safety training programs to employees, including induction training, toolbox talks, and specific training sessions as required.
  • Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate records of health and safety incidents, inspections, training, and other relevant information.
  • Monitor and review health and safety performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in health and safety legislation and best practices, and ensure compliance throughout the organization.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of worksites, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and contractors on health and safety matters, representing the company’s interests.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor or similar role in a construction, engineering, or industrial environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and the ability to identify hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging and informative health and safety training programs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented approach to health and safety, with the ability to anticipate and address potential issues.
  • NEBOSH certification (National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety) or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Additional certifications such as IOSH Managing Safely or Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card will be an advantage.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
