Job Description

Westquarter Primary School is a non-denominational primary school situated in the village of Westquarter, which is approximately 3 miles from Falkirk, with a current roll of 373 children across P1-P7, with spaces for 48 children in the nursery.

Our motto is Possumus Superati - We can be great, we will be great. At Westquarter PS, our aim is to ensure that everyone within our learning community becomes the best that they can be. We ensure equal opportunities are given to all our pupils and hold a genuine belief that each and every one has the capacity to achieve and attain high levels of success.

We are recognised for our effective partnerships with the community and local agencies and we value the strong support from our parents and learning community.

We are committed to improving the quality of Learning and Teaching across the school, helping all of our young people to receive the best possible start to life and work.

The school recently worked with pupils, staff and parents to review the aims, vision and values of the school. The pupils are encouraged to be Ready, Respectful and Safe. The school uses a restorative approach to support and

encourage pupils.

The school’s Senior Leadership Team comprises the Headteacher, one Depute Headteacher and 1.8FTE Principal Teachers. ;

Parent Council

The Main Aims Of The Parent Council Are
  • To support and work collaboratively with the school in its work with pupils
  • To seek and represent the views of parents
  • To promote contact between the school, parents, pupils, providers of nursery education and the community
  • To report to the Parent Forum
  • To be involved in the appointment of senior promoted staff in the school.
  • To raise funds for the school for the benefit of pupils (in some schools the PTA/PA fulfils this role).
Well-established transitions exists between Westquarter Primary School and its associated secondary school, Graeme High School, which supports cluster work and links between the Graeme catchment primary schools.
