Job Description

The role of the Head Teacher is, within the resources available, to promote high quality learning and teaching to secure improved educational outcomes for the benefit of pupils and the community through pursuing objectives and implementing policies set by the Department under the overall direction of the Director for Education, Skills and Children’s Services. Head Teachers have a corporate responsibility to contribute to an agenda of ongoing improvement in their school and across their council area.

Requirements

You should have a Degree or equivalent qualification, together with certification for teaching. Previous permanent appointment as a Headteacher or certified achievement of the GTCS Standard for Headship is an essential requirement. You should have several years’ experience of delivering the curriculum across all primary stages or secondary stages.

You must have GTC Scotland Registration.

The above post is a full time permanent position, and the salary is in accordance with current regulations plus £2,397 distant islands allowance.
