About the company:

Savernake is a British knife maker based in the Savernake Forest near Marlborough. We’re known for making custom blades of the utmost distinction - each one to the exacting demands of a customer. We have applied all our accumulated knowhow to create a new range of knives - the DNA Range - that will be available for sale in retail stores

Why we are hiring:

We are looking for someone to head up our sales team at Savernake Knives to drive our push into the world of retail.

Your mission:

To disrupt the premium knife market and establish Savernake as the go to British knife brand of choice.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Build out scaleable and efficient processes for generating leads and sales
  • Sourcing, building and maintaining retail accounts as well as scoping opportunities for new business development - from small kitchen shops to large national and international retailers as well as potential non-retail partnerships.
  • Work closely with product and brand teams to create account winning products and propositions.
  • To set and achieve punchy KPIs, including sales targets.

The attributes we are looking for:

  • Initiative - you will (mostly) be defining what your job entails and how you go about it
  • Hustle, hustle, hustle - we’re aiming to disrupt the premium knife market!
  • A clear communicating style that works on paper and in person.
  • An authoritative, polite and attentive manner.
  • An interest in knives, cooking and food.
  • A sense of humour.

A successful candidate will have:

  • At least 3 years of Housewares sales experience
  • A driver’s licence and a car they are willing to use for work

Nice to haves (but not essential):

  • Knife sales experience
  • Knowledge of the knife market
  • A technical understanding of how knives are made and how they function
