Principal Responsibilities

• To lead the development and implementation of a multi-channel marketing and comms strategy, which addresses key organisational objectives.

• As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, to contribute to the development and implementation of the organisational strategy.

• To be guardian of the charity’s brand and sub-brands, developing a strong creative and brand strategy, ensuring its implementation across the charity.

• To line manage a team of 3 – 4 people, providing leadership and expertise to coach and develop team members.

• To oversee budgets to ensure the most effective use of all marketing spend, negotiating with third party suppliers and advertisers to secure the best possible prices.

• To use data to analyse effectiveness of marketing activity and inform future campaigns; and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns against agreed KPIs.

• To be responsible for data oversight, management and development, ensuring Wessex Cancer Trust data use is compliant with GDPR.

• Produce quarterly reports to Board, attend and participate in regular Board meetings and subcommittee meetings.

• To oversee direct reports’ delivery of individual marketing plans for specific events, activities and campaigns; ensuring activity is integrated across all channels where appropriate.

• To oversee the development and implementation of a marketing content calendar.

• To ensure social media and digital channels, including the website, are monitored and updated regularly with urgent matters responded to in a timely fashion.

• To oversee the updating and development of the website.

• To develop and implement direct marketing appeals to raise funds through donations, lottery and legacy promotions, working closely with the Head of Fundraising to ensure all fundraising activity is integrated.
