The University is a modern and dynamic institution with a long history of delivering top-class, industry-relevant courses. As a teaching intensive and research informed university we are passionate about developing the capability and capacity of our students to excel in a complex and rapidly changing world.

We are looking to recruit an inspirational, proactive, and energetic academic leader to provide leadership to the Institute of Management. The role holder will work closely and productively with the Faculty Dean and other senior colleagues to drive sustainable long-term growth and deliver ambitious plans in line with the University academic strategy.

Applicants must hold a good honours degree in a relevant academic discipline, have extensive management experience and extensive senior industry contacts and possess a collaborative / engaging leadership style

Key responsibilities will include developing networks and partnerships, effectively managing the staff in the Institute through two Academic Operational Leads, and taking overall responsibility for the operations and performance of the Institute. This will involve leading the development and delivery of an academically and financially sustainable portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, contributing to the development of a research and enterprise culture and expanding external partnerships.

The successful candidate should, therefore, demonstrate an awareness of current developments in Higher Education along with substantial experience of achieving excellence in both teaching and research. A Professorial title may be confirmed for those we meet the University criteria.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with a successful track record in a leadership role within the higher education space – those looking to further their careers in operational leadership or experienced business school leaders looking for a new challenge and are passionate about joining a business school with real ambition.

We would also be interested in receiving applications from those with a proven record in industry who can bring their senior business experience to academia.
