Due to internal promotion we are excited to be recruiting for a Head of Financial Strategy to join our client based in Crewe who are one of Europe’s largest providers of fuel cards, whereby you will be a pivotal member of the senior management team. As Head of Financial Strategy you will support the Finance Directors to drive the business level and operational targets to under pin the delivery of the group’s corporate targets for volume and operating profit targets across Europe. As Head of Financial Strategy you will have previous strategic experience gained within a similar organisation to include managing data, business forecasting, analysing trends, reviewing sales ROI across the business, preparing budgets and presenting to internal stakeholders. You will be driven by data and strategy but also be able to work with the entire business in order to implement and review business performance. The Role

We are one of Europe’s largest providers of the fuel cards supplying small, medium and large business throughout Europe. Operating in 8 European countries with over 90,000 customers and 2 billion litres of fuel handled per year.

A permanent role with the FP&A team to drive the business level and operational targets to under pin the delivery of the Group’s corporate targets for volume and operating profit targets.

To work closely with the Country Directors to establish agent level targets across the sales and volume funnel and own the commission schemes.

To evaluate business cases for new investment cases and ROI.

Main Responsibilities
  • Works new volume forecasts and adjusts as business develops through the year - constant review of opportunities and risks
  • Leads the annual budget target setting process for key metrics including agent level targets and metrics
  • Work with data team to ensure all performance metrics are measured
  • Owns the commission and incentives process and alignment to Corporate goals
  • Work with key stakeholders including Sales Excellence Director and Head of Marketing to optimise strategy through the leads generation to volume funnel
  • Undertake Financial reviews on investment business cases
  • To develop and optimise the KPI’s for the annual and quarterly financial plan
  • Manage labour load budgeting and review
Skills, Experience And Attributes
  • Previous Leadership role - confident, persistent and energized
  • Qualified accountant or high level business related discipline preferred i.e. MBA or Masters
  • Previous strategy experience
  • Experience of working independently and to a high level of accuracy
  • Highly organized and structured in planning and execution of responsibilities
  • Ability to build networks across departments and countries with ability to influence others
  • Taking quick, tough decisions
