Job description

We are currently working with a leading independent Civil Engineering company. Due to continued success on existing and new contracts they are looking to heavily invest in creating a new directional drilling division.

As Head of Directional Drilling, this role can offer you the opportunity to be instrumental in developing the business, helping it deliver long term ambitious growth plans.

Salary to £90k | Company Vehicle or Allowance | Bonus | Healthcare | Stakeholder Pension | 25 Days Holiday + bank holidays

Key Essentials:

* Reporting to the Civil Engineering Director you will be responsible for managing directional drilling operations up to 355mm diameter

* Involved in sourcing new work and attending pre-start meetings

* Conducting pre-job preparation and consultation with clients, highways and local authorities

* Regularly engaging with the commercial department and directors regarding current and forthcoming project costs whilst managing your own P&L

* Playing a key part in the identification, planning and delivery of capital investment for plant

* Carrying out monthly operational expenditure reviews with Directors to ensure effective cost controls are in place

* Overseeing managers; ensuring that all Operatives are correctly inducted and working safely

* Plan and manage equipment requirements for all contingencies

* Liaising with managers to ensure that all plant is working and maintained in line with company procedures

* Motivating teams, setting clear expectations with regular reviews

Requirements:

* Previous senior level experience of working in directional drilling projects to a minimum of 355mm

* Strong knowledge of directional drilling methods of work, equipment and practices

* Good commercial skills including P&L management
