In a fast changing, dynamic area of work, this is a crucial role in ensuring that the operational systems and networks that the GB energy system relies on remain resilient against cyber and related security threats. By drawing on a wealth of experience and best practice across different sectors, you’ll support, assure, report and instruct against the regulatory framework to ensure cyber resilient systems for critical national infrastructure. You can expect to work with an expansive and diverse range of stakeholders – including government, the energy sector, other regulators, and research organisations. Working closely with other Ofgem functions you’ll be instrumental in shaping Cyber standards and guidelines that can be used across the entirety of the energy sector. It’s a chance to work with a highly skilled, technical teamworking at the forefront of cyber assurance on issues of national importance.

It’s likely that you will already have experience of advising on Critical National Infrastructure issues, and that you have experience of engaging, advising and influencing at all levels. You’ll need highly effective communication skills that enable you to challenge current practices as part of the inspection of energy companies, often at the most senior levels. You’ll offer a detailed knowledge of compliance and audit processes and you should already have experience of undertaking investigations and incident response activities.
